Keysight launches new phase noise test system

first_img Continue Reading Previous Innodisk introducing transformative AIoT-solutionsNext How low (power) can you go? Keysight Technologies introduced a new phase noise measurement system for “power users”, which enables them to optimize and prove performance of new designs, meet operational requirements, as well as remain on schedule and on budget. Phase noise is an unwanted phase modulation noise that emerges in nearly all radio frequency and microwave devices including oscillators, mixers, dividers, multipliers and amplifiers. Power users, including professionals responsible for developing high-performance aerospace and defense applications as well as cutting-edge device characterization for 5G and other wireless communication systems, need to validate the phase noise performance of their designs.Keysight’s new N5511A Phase Noise Test System models are available in three frequency ranges – from 50 kHz and going up to 3, 26.5, or 40 GHz with offsets from .01 Hz to 160 MHz internally. It can be configured for either single or dual-channel operation and offers the following key technology features:Flexible architecture for easy integration of external reference sources enabling users to select from a variety of commercially-available low-noise sourcesPhase detector (quadrature) technique maximizes dynamic rangeBest-in-class absolute and residual measurements on both continuous wave and pulsed signalsCross spectral averaging (cross-correlation) to measure noise approaching the limits of physics, down to the kT (–177 dBm/Hz) thermal noise floor, by removing uncorrelated noise between two channels and enabling users to see the real performance of their device under testConsisting of phase detector and data conversion modules housed in a custom, low-noise single PXIe mainframe four units (4U) high, the N5511A occupies minimal rack space. The system software included runs on an integrated PC controller using the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.Share this:TwitterFacebookLinkedInMoreRedditTumblrPinterestWhatsAppSkypePocketTelegram Tags: Chips & Components last_img read more

TNPL 2019: R Ashwin slams quickfire 37 after promoting himself to No. 3 for Dindigul Dragons

first_imgIndia off-spinner R Ashwin continued his good run with the bat as he hit a quickfire 37 for Dindigul Dragons in their Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2019 opener agianst former champions Chepauk Super Gillies in Dindigul on Friday.Ashwin top-scored for Dindigul Dragons as they defeated former champions Chepauk Super Gillies by 10 runs in the season-opening match of TNPL. Super Gillies, who missed injured Vijay Shankar, were restricted to 105 for 9 in 20 overs in their chase of 116 after M Silambarasan picked up a 4-wicket haul for the Dragons.Ashwin, who leads the Dindigul Dragons, walked out to bat at No. 3 after his team lost opener Hari Nishanth as early as the 2nd over of the match. Earlier in the evening, Ashwin had lost the toss and the Dragons were sent in to bat on what was seemingly a difficult pitch for batsmen.Ashwin though played a few elegant shots during his 19-ball stay at the middle. The India all-rounder smashed 37 runs, including 5 boundaries and a six as he took the Super Gillies bowlers to the cleaners.Ashwin has been in fine form with both the bat and the ball. The Test speciallist had a dream run in the county season in England as he picked up 23 wickets and hit 167 runs in 3 matches for Nottinghamshire.Incidentally, R Ashwin was caught and bowled in the 9th over by his Kings XI Punjab teammate M Ashwin, who is the lead leg-spinner for the Super Gillies.Meanwhile, Ashwin is on at the other end! The home team finished with 115 for 9 in 20 overs. M Ashwin picked up 2 wickets in his four-over quota while R Alexander was the pick of the bowlers for the Super Gillies as he finished with figures of 11 for 3 in 4 overs.R Ashwin is set to play for Dindigul Dragons throughout the 4th season of TNPL. The new season features 8 teams and will be played between July 19 and August 15.Meanwhile, Chepauk Super Gillies missed captain Vijay Shankar, who is still recovering from the toe injury that cut short his World Cup 2019 campaign in England.
